Hi, I'm Jon Carlson, founder of Carlson Clubs and a lifelong athlete with deep roots in precision manufacturing. For years, I led sales and marketing at Wisconsin Engraving, where I received my education on five-axis lasers and and learned to turn raw metal into works of art. I’ve seen everything engraved from industrial parts to one-of-a-kind creations—but nothing lit a fire in me like the idea of giving golfers a way to Make Your Mark on the most personal club in their bag.

That passion led me to launch Carlson Clubs right here in Grayslake, Illinois. I saw an opportunity to create something that no one else is truly doing. Every Carlson putter starts as a single billet of high-grade 303 stainless steel, which is then CNC milled into 1 of 4 unique putter designs (as of right now). From that point on you then are able customize your putter your way: lie angle, face angle, shaft length, grip , and—most importantly—your own laser-engraved design that tells your story.

Think of it as a tattoo for metal. Whether it’s your initials, a meaningful quote, your kids’ names, a lucky symbol, or an intricate pattern, 3D laser engraving makes it permanent, vibrant, and uniquely yours. These aren’t just putters—they’re extensions of who you are on the course.

I’m building Carlson Clubs the old-fashioned way: one golfer at a time. You’ll find me out on local courses in northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin most weekends, demoing putters, and helping players create something they’re proud to pull from the bag. My mission is simple—deliver American-made quality that performs as beautifully as it looks, while making custom engraving accessible and fun.
